The Environmental Protection Agency's Safer Choice Standard is a list of guidelines meant to protect consumers from products that harm the environment.
In their proposal, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes and 11 other attorneys general outlined a list of revisions focusing on a longer-term approach for evaluating household products.
Proposed changes include additional guidelines for plastic packaging and flushable wipes, as well as a call for more transparency from within the agency.
The public comment period ended Tuesday.
